INTRAC LATAM

The Latin American chapter of researchers on the transition to adulthood from the care system was established as a branch of the Global Network of Researchers on this topic (Global INTRAC: International Research Network on Transitions to Adulthood from Care – https://globalintrac.com/).

The goal of this network is to promote the production of specific knowledge in our region regarding national contexts on transitions and the exit from care to independent living. In this sense, it aims to:

  • Facilitate dialogue among researchers on the transition to adulthood from the care system.
  • Promote the development of emerging researchers linked to this topic. These include PhD candidates, early-career academics, and pioneering researchers in this and related topics in their country or other countries in the region.
  • Promote transnational research on the transition to adulthood from the care system.
  • Generate or support publication opportunities for national, international, and comparative studies.
  • Facilitate the use of research results to inform policy and practice.

Who participates?

  • People who are developing and executing research projects or are about to develop research projects on the topic of transitions to adulthood from the care system in Latin America.
  • People with interest and experience in research on the topic of transitions to adulthood from the care system, whether from universities, civil society organizations, or care systems of various Latin American states.

Currently, we have representation from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay.
